Nanotechnology is expected to have an impact on nearly every industry. The U.S. National Science Foundation has predicted that the global market for nanotechnologies will reach $1 trillion or more within 20 years. Nanotechnology related job projections are estimated to be nearly TWO Million engineers/scientists worldwide by 2015!!.  Working in Nanotechnology offers significantly more rewarding career and job satisfaction compared to mundane careers in IT or similar fields.  However, there is little awareness or knowledge in India about world-wide opportunities in Nanotechnology.  NANOTECHTRAINING is determined to bridge this gap and avail world-class knowledge and opportunities in Nanotechnology to students and professionals in India.

A team of experts, comprising of I I T graduates with PhD from overseas universities and extensive experience in world leading Nanotechnology institutes/companies, has developed training courses in Nanotechnology. Aim of NANOTECHTRAINING is to open a window to immense activities and opportunities in Nanotechnology, to guide and eventually realize your dream of launching a coveted career in the next generation technology – NANOTECHNOLOGY.

Imagine a medical device that travels through the human body to seek out and destroy small clusters of cancerous cells before they can spread. Or a computer chip which is hundred times faster than our present computer chips at the same time hundred times cheaper. Sounds like science fiction?? Answer is YES, it is possible and NANOTECHNOLOGY is all about realizing such devices or materials by controlling/ manipulating material properties or dimensions at atomic or nanometer scale. Nanometer is one-billionth part (10-9) of a meter. To give a perspective of how small this is – the diameter of average human hair is 10,000 nanometers!  Nanotechnology refers to the ability to synthesis, manipulate and characterize matter at size of 100nanometer or less.

High-tech companies/ research institutes world over are working on Nanotechnology and billions of dollars are being pumped in for research and development work in Nanotechnology.  The research community and high-tech industries world-over are actively pursuing hundreds of applications in various fields of Nanotechnology - nanomaterials, nanoelectronics, nano-machines, bionanotechnology etc.  Most near term applications of nanotechnology are in the form of nanomaterials and many applications are already commercially available. These include materials such as lighter and stronger nanocomposites, antibacterial nanoparticles, and nanostructured catalysts. Nanodevices and nanoelectronics are farther off, perhaps 5-15 years, and will have applications in medical treatments and diagnostics, faster computers, and in sensors.
